maaza ads of this series focus on the fun factor as always, in fact this series is part of their long ongoing campaign of ads that seem to position it as mango replacement more than anything. this strategy has worked for maaza, it is the most favoured in its category - mango and sugar based beverage. (i am saying this on the basis of a survey conducted by one of my b-school classmate who is a keen and enthusiastic marketing student). these ads are funny and feel fresh despite the old message.the concepts of these ads is good enough and is shot nicely too. as expected, i was tempted to drink a maaza and got one while writing this one...
This ad is part of a series of ads having the same backdrop of a restaurant with a wicked and conniving owner. Here, I would talk in general about the entire series as there are quite few of them and it makes sense to have a go at them in a single go. i have already reviewed one in which Ranbir Kapoor is shown serving the patrons by a very small spoon and that too by taking his own sweet time. The series tries to expose some hard realities about the scams and fraudulent practices by mobile operators in India, saying that I must add, even Tata Docomo is not free from that. The campaign is a success overall, with high recall value with the customers and a general positive feedback. The ads are inherently funny and all the actors do a superb job. The expressions of some of the supporting actors are exactly what one feels with the slow internet speed, being cheated out of balance or promises not being delivered, frustrated and helpless. The ad series delivers the message clearly and cleverly. This ad series is a classical example of subtle humour that is rarely used in Indian ad space.
I was really tired of reviewing the slew of IDEA heavenly app series ads. I really don't know how many of those are there. The main factor being none are worth reviewing, the only reason I am reviewing them is that they are bringing in the maximum traffic!!!
I was as surprised as you are...speechless...It will take me some time to delve into the reasons and will get back to you on this.
As for these ads, mentioned in the title, all are worthless, unimaginative and painful to watch. In fact, they kill the joy of IPL.
This ad shows the power of chemistry, not only in cinema but advertisements as well. It is pleasant and fresh. There is no high funda lecture or gyaan or tagline in the ad, its simple and to the point. Brilliant execution by the ad makers and concept is good as well. The couple looks like a real couple, an absolute treat, refreshes ROCK ON memories.
this is the only one in the series of the new IDEA heavenly apps ad, that is actually watchable and does not irritate you to the core. But this fact is due to the presence of our stereotypical portrayal of beloved Gujjus and not a bit due to the ever so smug looking Abhishek Bachchan. After few views, this ad also starts to get on your nerves like all others in the series. One quick off the topic remark: what the hell are the marketing department of Idea doing, can't they see the damage inflicted by such poor ads on the overall brand perception. wake up!!!
